The ReMakers Project is a series of innovative classes and workshops developed by Athens Makerspace and open and free to all refugees and unemployed individuals in Athens. Aiming to broaden the range of technical skills of its participants, the program consists of five independent workshops that will introduce them in a proactive way to applied technologies such as electronics, 3D printing, vinyl cutting, plastic processing and woodworks. For this project Athens Makerspace trained 10 beneficiaries, people form vulnerable social groups (young unemployed locals and refugees) that after the guidance of Athens Makerspace ran the previously mentioned workshops, while getting paid and teaching our local communities to innovate and even create a small revenue. The ReMakers Project is funded by the JCDR, a JDC initiative.
